Week in the Life - Day 2

I forgot to mention that this is my first year participating in Ali Edward's Week in the Life event. I've sat back and enjoyed it for many years but decided that this was the year to give it a try. After posting yesterday, I realized that a lot of people took way more photos than I did. I think Ali said she took something like 184 photos on the first day! I started to doubt myself then I reminded myself that there is no right or wrong way to do this project. So I'm carrying on with my few but special photos.

One thing I'm really grateful about is my teenagers great attitude towards Mom's little photo project. Normally, my teenagers don't like to have their pictures taken. I get a lot of photos with the hands in front of the faces. You know those photos? Well, I explained to my 3 teenagers what I was doing and how important it was to me and they've been just great about letting me take photos. Gotta love that.

Now, On To Day 2 . . .

My 3 kids wake up early to catch their buses to middle school and high school. I find it so sweet that out of all my children, it's my 18 year-old son that makes sure he kisses me goodbye every morning before he heads out the door. Not his 16-year old brother or his 13 year-old sister who merely shout their goodbyes. Go figure.

I'm a creature of habit and eat the same breakfast nearly every morning so no sense repeating it. But here's Molly, our Russian Blue cat, eating her breakfast.

I did some exercise by lifting some weights then hit the shower as I have a doctor's appointment to get ready for. I have a chronic illness so doctors appointments are a big part of my life.

For example, I take medicine 4 times a day and I use this pill organizer to help me keep my meds straight.

Today, I spent a lot of time in the car, driving to the doctor, the grocery store, the pharmacy, a school meeting, and then because it was so late we got drive-thru for dinner. My Mommy Van racks up lots of miles with 3 active kids.

While I was at the doctors, Eric and Meghan had lacrosse practice. Since I couldn't get a photo of them at practice, here they are with their new sticks.

My juicy snack was this delicious clementine. I've been eating one of these everyday they're so good.

I went to the High School for a mandatory meeting for parents of kids taking AP classes in the Fall. Love those mandatory meetings. I tried to take a picture of the chaos in the hallways at the high school without embarrassing my teenage son. Not possible. :)

After the school meeting, I ran into the grocery store to grab some essentials: milk, bananas, lettuce for our tortoise, etc. Can't let Yoshi the tortoise go hungry. Then we hit the Pharmacy to pick up my medicine and then  . . .

. . . at my teenage son's request we went to Burger King because he was starving -- what's new? Plus, it was too late to start dinner so this was dinner.

When I got home with our nutritious dinner of Burger King, my daughter met me at the door with this package. It's her birthday this week and the 1st birthday gift has arrived. I suggested she wait until her birthday to open it but she admittedly has no patience. So open it she did.

Here she is already playing with some of her birthday package goodies -- sparkly nail polish from her Auntie.

Off to finish homework and then to bed. Well, except for Mom who still has to clean the kitchen.

Goodnight.

Hi there, I came across your link via Ali's WITL post. You'll be so pleased you started your WITL because it's a wonderful project. Remember even if Ali takes 184 photos she'll probably only use 10 on the actual day so even if you take only 20 photos you'll have enough. If you have more, then you get a choice and at the same time recording your life. Enjoy your first WITL project and I'm sure you'll be back for more next year. This is my 3rd year and I love looking back on the albums. Regards Kathy, Brisbane, Australia
